Co-located with the ICT event 2008
The main objective of COST 292 Action has been to push forward the frontiers of current research on semantic analysis, inference and conceptualisation for high-level annotation and retrieval of digital audiovisual content.
To achieve this goal this action has brought together leading European research teams working on knowledge-assisted semantic analysis, unification, inference and conceptualisation for high-level recognition of digital content. In particular, the proposed integrative research has been seeking for solutions to issues for which current approaches fail giving focused attention to two main aspects: Semantic learning and inference and multimodal analysis.
The COST292 Action comprises seven interrelated and concurrent Work Groups (WG).
- WG 1 - Common testing data and frameworks.
- WG 2 - Image and Video Segmentation, Shot Analysis and Key frame extraction, Efficient extraction of standardized features.
- WG 3 - Reduction of the dimension of the feature space and multimodal feature fusion.
- WG 4 - Automatic paradigms for semantic annotation.
- WG 5 - Semi-automatic paradigms for semantic annotation.
- WG 6 - Applications.
- WG 7 - JPSearch.
